The alarm was raised when two people were seen on marshland just off Penclawdd. Our crew were contacted. Our smaller auxiliary boat was taken to Penclawdd by Vehicle. By that time we found that the two people were digging for lugworms. As the tide was ebbing it was decided that no further action needed to be taken.

14/01/05
Fishermen on Loughor bridge called the coastguard when they saw a boat capsize near Loughor Boating Club slipway. Our crew were immediately contacted. Three men were thrown into the water, none of them were wearing life jackets. One managed to cling onto the capsized boat, the other two were swept by the strong ebbing tide under the bridge. A safety boat was launched from Loughor Boating Club and picked up the man clinging to the capsized boat. Our lifeboat then picked up the other two men a few minuets later. All were suffering from hypothermia.
